Before the Ball Drops: Your Support Determines the Future of Seminole 2.1

Dear Seminole Pool & Tennis Families,

With the New Year countdown underway, time is running out to pledge or donate to Seminole 2.1. The total amount of money committed by the end of this year will determine whether or not we are able to move forward with plans to break ground in September 2026—we’re counting on you, Seminole family! We would love to have a final surge before the turn of the year - let’s get more families listed on our donor page!

Why act before January 1?
In addition to supporting the future of Seminole Pool, there may be meaningful tax benefits to donating before the end of 2025. Charitable giving rules are set to change in 2026, including:

• For those who take the standard deduction, a new above-the-line charitable deduction is expected in 2026 (It’s a great time to place a pledge for 2026):

  • Up to $1,000 for single filers

  • Up to $2,000 for married filers

• For those who itemize deductions, the new tax law introduces:

  • A floor on charitable deductions

  • A limitation on the value of itemized deductions for taxpayers in higher tax brackets

Because of these changes, families may find greater tax advantages by donating before December 31, 2025, especially if they are making a larger donation. As always, we encourage you to consult your tax advisor regarding your individual situation. More information is available here for reference. Time is also running out to join our fundraising contest to name the Four Square space at the new pool! Without revealing too much, a single $67 donation gives you pretty good odds where things currently stand.
