Seminole on Ice Recap!

Hello Seminole Families,

We are thrilled to share that our second “Seminole on Ice” event was a resounding success! Here are the numbers in a brief recap:

  • Over 250 Seminole skaters

  • Over 200 slices of pizza sold

  • More than 100 “chucked-ducks”

  • We raised over $5000 for Seminole 2.1 (this is over $1000 more than last year!)

  • Countless smiles and laughs - what a great preview of how much fun this summer will be together

We had lots of wonderful raffle prizes, but we are still looking for a handful of winners, so if you were there, check your tickets for the following numbers:

  • Red #455758 (Prize #4 - Kids Bluey Craft and Nail art collection)

  • Yellow #580979 (Prize #18 - Hop Haus gift basket)

  • Yellow #580314 (Prize #36 - $20 Me & Julio, $10 Oasis, $10 Curry in the Box, Crumb’l cookie and Ians Pizza prize)

  • We need to connect with the winner of the UW Volleyball tickets so we can arrange transfer of the tickets to you.

If you have one of these tickets, please email carleenh@seminole26-5.org with a photo of your winning ticket stub and we can make arrangements for pick up. Any unclaimed prizes will be shifted to the Silent Auction that starts in less than 2 weeks.

We had a few items that were lost during the event so if you accidentally left with items that were not yours, please contact us as well and their rightful owners will be thankful. Specifically we are looking for:

  • Kids Bauer Hockey Skates - black on outside, bright green inside, believe they are size 5. They were on a bench on the main level just off the rink.

  • White Hockey Helmet in a black Bauer bag

  • We found a red UW Department of Medicine insulated cup - message us if it’s yours.

This event could not have occurred without the generous support of the Verona Ice Arena who donated our use of the facility. Be sure to thank them with a return visit! We also were fortunate to have Thrivent Financial support us by donating tshirts for our volunteers and funds toward our pizza sales, and had many other local business donors for raffle prizes. Finally, we had the support of many members who helped us from set up, to clean up - a big call out to the O’Brien family for weeks of work with the planning and running of the event. We are grateful.

One last reminder that if you need Mother’s Day or teachers gifts, our K&A gift certificates (no expiration date) are a perfect solution - we will sell these through May 15th, so please place your order in the next 1-2 weeks. There is not an easier way to support our efforts! Use this Zeffy link to place your order and pay or contact carleenh@seminole26-5.org if you prefer to pay with cash.

Keep your eyes open for more exciting updates with the progress of Seminole 2.1 in the coming weeks - we expect to be opening the project for bids in the near future, so let us know if you have connections we should share with our team.

Opening weekend is less than THREE WEEKS AWAY! See you at the pool.

Swimmingly,
Seminole 2.1 Committee
